Under the patronage of the Celebrations Committee at the Private Engineering Office (PEO) and in cooperation with the Embassy of Pakistan in Qatar, the third edition of the Pakistani Mango Exhibition will open Thursday at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif. The event will run until July 18, offering visitors ten days of cultural and gastronomic experiences centered on Pakistanâs famed mangoes.
Now in its third consecutive year, the exhibition has quickly established itself as one of the regionâs leading seasonal specialty events. Last yearâs edition drew more than 101,000 visitors and sold over 228 tonnes of mangoes, alongside strong participation from Pakistani companies and restaurants. Organizers expect this yearâs turnout to surpass previous records, reflecting the growing popularity of Souq Waqif as a summer destination.
More than 30 Pakistani companies will participate, including exporters arriving directly from Pakistan and locally based businesses. Over 30 restaurants will also showcase mangoâbased dishes, pickles, desserts, and beverages, highlighting the diversity of Pakistanâs food industry. While mangoes remain the centerpiece, the exhibition will also feature other seasonal fruits such as apricots, peaches, jamun, and chikoo, representing about 20 percent of the products on display.
Visitors will be introduced to Pakistanâs most celebrated mango varieties, including Sindhri, Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol, Dussehri, and Lal Badshah, all renowned for their distinctive flavors and international reputation. Pakistan, the worldâs fifthâlargest mango producer, exports 16 commercial varieties annually, several of which are recognized globally as premium.
General Supervisor Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi said preparations began months in advance, with a fully airâconditioned tent installed to ensure visitor comfort. He emphasized that the exhibition is more than a marketplace, offering a cultural journey into Pakistanâs agricultural heritage and culinary traditions. âEach year, the exhibition grows in scale and reputation. We are confident this edition will set new records and provide visitors with an unforgettable experience,â he noted.
The exhibition will welcome visitors daily from 4 pm to 10 pm, combining shopping, family entertainment, and cultural discovery in the heritage setting of Souq Waqif.
